Stephen Feather Art

I am a contemporary artist based between London, UK and Curitiba, Brazil. I make artwork which explores the urban environment and contemporary urban culture.

Most recently I have been making dark paintings which aim to explore the sensation of darkness and the quality of colour at night time. During this project I have been working with various mediums and techniques to investigate the physical qualities of colour and darkness. I hope to show these new works and use them to develop new exhibitions in which the paintings are presented in immersive installations.

My work reflects a broader exploration of identity. I use personal experiences and my own memories of living in the city and suburbia as starting points. The architectural landscape is one of my main areas of interest but I am also drawn to the relationship between the natural world and the urban landscape. I explore these themes through the language of painting and mark making in various mediums.
